I steadily grew tired of the gentleman sitting next to me talking so sincerely about the conundrum of whether the dream-land or real life was more real and had more meaning. It was depressing to imagine myself thinking these thoughts and tedious at best especially since most of my dreams were not memorable. I stood up to leave just at the same time El Capitán and the woman he was with sauntered out the door. I followed them from a distance, telling myself it was only because they were going in the same direction I was going, but then I missed my first turn. Realizing this was ridiculous I decided that at the next street I would turn and make my way back to my usual path meanwhile they must have turned into a dwelling or store front. It seemed strange to me that they had vanished. I looked around wondering a little if I had dreamt the whole thing up and and decided the conversation at the cafe had clearly encouraged this fanciful thinking and continued on my way picking up the tuesday paper and heading down a narrow tree lined street towards my apartment.
