ME II: turbulent day
Today was deeply gray and cool to cold with a lot of pressure from the storm. It rained most of today and it was a long work day for both of us. Tomorrow early Matt leaves for a work trip to the mothership in Ohio and will be back on Friday. It will be rather strange to be here in this house, this life, in Maine without Matt but I'm sure the time will go by quickly as I'll be working and everything is cooking on gas at work. Early today I hurried down to the post office and hurried back in the light rain. The Thai green curry got put off until tomorrow as we had too much to do this evening to get ready for an early day tomorrow. It's been raining largely all day and now there the creeks are reporting flooding and the cars are splashing through deep water in the streets. That is all to say that we didn't make it out much and the photos are meager.
I've been thinking about people that live year-round on the islands of Maine. It's obvious the appeal and also the trouble. One of the Maine magazines is the Down East and they have an interesting article on how things are changing with access to online remote work.
