ME III: Day of the Chickadee

Today was a beautiful Tuesday with blue skies and crisp weather which makes you grab a sweater on your way out the door. The giant radiators where I live are on in the early mornings when it is chilly and in the evenings one can smell wood fire smoke here and there on our walks. The very first of the leaves are turning yellow and red. I think inland the show is really starting. We had a nice dinner at Novare Res.

Things are cooking on all burners at work.

I read in other news that 6 condors were spotted flying over Mt. Diablo. The first time in 100 years!

Bridge is UP!
Green garlic, green onions, sage, tarragon, chard, and, kale. Sounds like a shopping list to me. Lovely Clark St. Community Garden.
The air is clean today and the island looks close. The Ferry is heading for Peaks.
Blue blue sky. These trees are right behind our house on the bakery side.
Art on art.
View from Spring Street.
Missed the sunset. Aww shucks.
Fore River looking at the airport on the far side and industry down below.

Have some fun. Remember to skip or do a somersault - I promise it's fun!

Sending love, Tawnia

A good bird day – Tawnia discovered that the bird song we had been hearing but could not identify (2 high notes descending) was a male Black-capped Chickadee! It kind of sounds like a sparrow's song. 13 species:
