ME III: glorious day!

Today was glorious with not a cloud in the sky. The blue was as deep and beautiful as can be. All the birds and animals seemed happy and buzzing about doing their thing. Only a few signs of the wind storm that yesterday was Hurricane Lee. A few branches and a few extra acorns and leaves strewn about. We got up early which is our want and went to Peaks Island. We went on a different walk that ended up a dead-end but nevertheless, on an island, you always have ocean views and there was shade and nice breezes. It turned into a very warm day by about 10am and we got home and went to work on Hesperian's website.

We love the Western Cemetery which was designed with park-like features on purpose. The pathways and general design were by civil engineer James Hall in 1840. There is also a beautiful entry gate which was designed by John Calvin Stevens, a local very famous architect. The land the cemetery was built on originally was owned by William Vaughn and part of the deal was that his family would have a large area near the center and from the gate there is a large field in the middle that is reserved for their travel to their deceased.
