ME III: TGIF
Today had a low of 51° and a high of 61°. It seems remarkably warm for this time of year to me but it is a shoulder season and that implies much variability. There is a 97% chance of rain tomorrow and it looks like it will continue through Sunday. Today was another busy workday and I expect we will work this weekend. Hopefully, we will also get some time to play. The Halloween decorations are in full swing these days. The old houses look quite spooky even without the decorations.
This evening I read a bit of good news — a tourist town has banned single use coffee cups encouraging you to bring your own or borrow one (kind of like everyone did when I was a kid). This got me thinking about the waste stream from coffee cups but the pandemic wildly increased the amount of things I buy online and more takeout dinners all resulting in more single-use waste. Small behaviors could make this much better and so I'm thinking about how to weave this back into ordinary life.
In other news, the entirety of the Whole Earth Catalog is now available online at the Internet Archive. This was around growing up with my back-to-the-earth/hippie parents. It is not a very user-friendly platform to view them in but here is a link for your perusal.

Have a splendid evening.
Sending love, Tawnia
