Day 24: ME IV

Today was chilly and later in the week we might get rain. Even Mainers were wearing coats this evening! Today was a busy day for me and super busy for Matt so we didn't get out to walk around the block and didn't have food in the house so we went out.

High and Congress has a nice square too but it's not as photographable (I'm working on it) but here across the street is the State Theatre which has different music shows every night where these big buses line up. Tonight there was a line of people as we went for dinner

We are in a significantly busier part of town than in prior years. It's interesting as we go to places we always avoided in the past because they are crowded. This evening I discovered as we were coming home that there is a sunken garden on Congress Square (High and Congress) that I couldn't ever see because it was always filled with people. I appreciate the quality of worlds upon worlds to discover in virtually the same place

One piece of good news is that the world's largest sailing cargo ship crossed the Atlantic bringing champagne!

A modest bird list today, though there was a very nice brief fly-by flock of Canadian Geese, in the evening from the window of the restaurant. 9 species:

1 Rock Pigeon
1 Herring Gull
1 Blue Jay
1 American Crow
1 Black-capped Chickadee
1 European Starling
1 House Sparrow
1 Northern Cardinal
