Rain!

Today was a rainy day, and the air quality improved, which also improved my breathing. It's amazing to me how much better I feel at 15 AQI than I do at 50 AQI.

This rain brings us in downtown SF to 2.59" of rain for July 1 - November 13, which is 130% of normal for this time period. Let's hope it continues all winter long! This is a great start for the year; sometimes it's completely dry in October and November. In fact, this feels more like the weather 20 years ago, when there was usually one good rain in October that would wake up the wild mushrooms, and then the real rain would start in November and increase in the months ahead.

Here is an interesting article about the complexity of protecting coastal areas from big storms. I love how something like this needs people from very different organizations, universities, and government departments all working together to create research and strategies that work for everyone involved.

Blue sky!
Sunset on the way back from the last local farmers' market of the season

Have a luscious day. Drink tea (or other hot beverage) and admire the beauty of the season.

Sending oodles of love,

Tawnia
