Happy return of the light! Today was one minute longer than yesterday, and the day length growth will get faster every day! This is my personal favorite holiday as it gives me so much hope and excitement, and ties me to the reality of day length, which feels intense. We did a few little celebratory things, which included going to get what might be the best almond croissant at Le Dix-Sept Pâtisserie, snuggled into a nondescript street on Portrero Hill. We also made a nice dinner and aim to go to bed early.

It rained last night and off and on all day here. Alternating between mist and light rain. It's gorgeous. Air quality is great! In the teens!!! Safe for everyone, says WHO.

Those itty-bitty little white dots are exquisite flowers of manzanita that have been knocked off in the wind and rain.
