No Kings

Today was a surprisingly unplanned day for us. We got up, went on a walk, went to the neighborhood farmers' market, and got some strawberries and kale. Came home, posted some jars on freecycle, and someone picked them up while we were out at the SF No Kings protest. Hooked up with our friend Rick, which was excellent, and walked amongst a great variety and number of people, all united against the insanity/nonsense that is happening.

It's estimated that between 50,000 and 100,000 people attended the SF No Kings event. It felt like a lot of people were walking. There were 3,300 events planned across the US.

It was super loud, and we walked home, had a beer, and took a nap. I think finally my ears stopped ringing. Couldn't get a reservation at any of the cheap local restaurants, but found a 5:30 available at Delfina, which is one of our fancier celebration restaurants. It was a little loud, too, but delicious. It's good to be home in the quiet.
