Mongolia

Today, we had a visit from an incredible Hesperian partner from Mongolia. Her name is Oyungerel Tsedevdamba. Here is her bio on Amazon. She works on many environmental health issues in Ulaanbaatar, including education and advocacy to promote the use of dry composting toilets, especially for the poor who live in the suburbs around Ulaanbaatar in yurts (gers), and on improving stoves and ventilation to reduce indoor and outdoor air pollution. She is an amazing speaker and stirrer-upper. We met through our book, A Community Guide to Environmental Health, which she translated into Mongolian, and then her journey to change toilets (it's a taboo topic there) was off and running.
