Passover Seder

Early in the day, I chatted with my dear friend Paula in Maine. It's good to hear about the work there to build community through song and to connect around the preservation of democracy and the building of the tomorrow we wish to see. Then we walked to Kantine for a half loaf of their seeded rye before it got too warm. It's also a wonderful walk along Dolores, which has magnificently wide shaded sidewalks (15-20 feet). On that walk, we heard Wilson's warblers! Just to say, yesterday we saw Pygmy Nuthatches and today Wilson's Warblers! These are both birds we have only ever seen/heard in the forest in West Marin. It's so exciting to find them in the city. Then we cooked and got things for the family Passover Seder. The actual ceremony part is very sweet and short, and I think fewer than 15 steps, but with the full story to help you think about freedom, why it's so important, and reminding us why we fight against oppression.

We've had a couple of days of hot weather, 80° in the city on Saturday and 81° today.
