No place like home

We came home late this afternoon to both meet with our contractor and so Matt could have a nicer morning before leaving on his business trip. We had a short walk in the morning in our usual beautiful place. Then regular work. Then the drive back. Ordered takeout, and our evening walk was to get breakfast, as there is no food in the house.

The wild world around us: There are dogs of every size and every shape. The American Kennel Club recognizes 205 distinct dog breeds in the United States. Keep in mind that is the total number of pure breeds. The real number is much higher. The COVID-19 pandemic substantially increased dog adoptions and purchases in San Francisco. It was so intense that there was a shortage of available dogs in 2020. Now the Animal Care & Control and SPCA face a huge over-capacity crisis.

Black Mountain covered in fog
Crows! and a subtle sunset.
Fog in the morning, fog in the evening. Fog in the country, fog in the city.

The bird of the day is the Mountain Quail

Here is a poem for you.
