Rain!

It rained! All morning we had light rain. It was also very dim. It looks like tomorrow we may have light rain all day as well. Work is pretty insane for both of us. Too many meetings and too many moving pieces. After work, we finally left the house and had a nice walk, then came home and made a nice dinner. Then we sat on the deck and had a glass of wine while the bats came to visit.

The wild world around us: The coyote (Canis latrans) is commonly spotted at Point Reyes National Seashore roaming open coastal dunes, grasslands, and ranch pastures. It is native to North America. There are 19 subspecies. Basically, the one on the East Coast is larger than the one on the West Coast. Coyote and Raven are often the wise tricksters in indigenous myths, and often they have supernatural powers.

Here we hear the coyotes across Sir Francis Drake yip-howling both day and night. It's very cool. Coyotes were an active part of my childhood. They usually watched silently over me when I went in the evening to bring the cows home. The sound of Kildeer filled the air.

Maidenhair Vine - I think this is a houseplant gone rogue. It likes dim light and damp soil, which this is neither most of the year.
