Maine Event: Day 4
Today was hot and muggy but not as much as NYC. We were at a high of 86 and around 80% humidity. We shopped for some basic food and stayed inside with air conditioning for the hot part. Later we got pizza and had our friend over for dinner, and a nice walk around the neighborhood after dark (with a kind soul to guide us so we didn't get lost). The city of Portland, Maine is not created on a North-South x East-West axis and the ocean is to the East (and sort of North and South). Anyway, I get all turned around, thank goodness for Google Maps and my pal Rosemary.
This is our front entryway. Amazingly all the sidewalks are brick.

We are both looking forward to having a bath after several years without such luxury.

Brick, not only for the sidewalks but for the houses as well. Beautiful tree-lined boulevards. A bit like Berkeley with some of the big houses even larger.

Tomorrow is the farmers market and I can hardly contain myself. So excited!
Sending love, Tawnia
