Maine Event: Day 17

Well, the most exciting thing today was that on our morning walk we saw a fox. It ran across the graveyard - in front of us - across the road - and down a tree-covered hillside that is the image below. It was a little red fox just like in the storybooks only a little more scraggly - maybe he was having a bad hair day. 
We got almost two inches of rain from Ida yesterday/last night/this morning. We still have beautiful dramatic clouds against blue skies. Elsewhere Ida left the power out, people dead, the North East drenched, NYC subway swimming while California fires are slated to burn more acres in 2021 than 2020 which seemed catastrophic (currently as of today in 2021 have burned 1,926,123 acres!). The new normal is alarming and it is especially bad for people with fewer resources. There are too many links I could attach here about the drought causing farmers to drill deeper or raging overtourism in 2021 (despite the pandemic).
This is a hillside near where the fox dove off the hillside. 

These plants in the foreground are culinary sumac. The red flower stalks...YUM. It grows all over the place like a weedy bush.

I thought this image of the Sea Surface Temp was interesting there is a small index at the very top if you make the image bigger. 

And beautiful skies of Ida. Sure glad I'm on the very outer edge of her range.
