Maine Event: Day 64

It's fun to eat your homework. We are having lentil soup again tonight. It's much cooler today and the big radiators were warming up the place when we woke up this morning. It's super windy out right now and raining yellow and red leaves. My weather app says that the high was 57° and the low 43° but it feels quite a bit colder than that. The wind is cold but nothing like the wind of the Pacific, to me at least.

The garden is still in fine form although it is clear that people were there cleaning up for winter or cover crops.

Check out this beautiful little modular cabin. They are due in the US in 2023 I hope they are successful. Here is more information

Tonight is my culinary class so I'll keep this short. It is really hard to imagine how to get packed up and extracted out of this life. It is interesting that is more difficult than leaving home, somehow. All said, I'm eager to return home and I know I'll miss the slow, clean rhythm of Maine.

Garden soil has been churned and is getting ready for the next thing. Lookin' good.

The next three images are all on Spruce St. one of our favorite streets.

On our evening walk, we went by the Shagbark Hickory tree in our neighborhood. They are not super common here.

Lovely large radiators. Yes, we are cozy.

Have a cozy night. May the rain put out the fires and not cause mudslides. It rains here usually several days a week (although not for a while here and none is on the 10-day forecast) and I still get excited about the rain. It really doesn't rain enough in CA.

Sending you oodles of love,
