Maine Event: Day 66

We thought we would cook dinner and have a night in, but then decided at the last minute to take the ferry to Peaks Island for a walk along the beautiful back coast. Our timing was perfect as our time on the water was happening simultaneously as a gorgeous sunset and our time walking back along the coast was an amazing show of moon and clouds. Spectacular all around.

In terms of news, you probably all read the same stuff as I do but I did enjoy this article entitled What Is Glitter? There is plenty of glitter here as you will see. It is now 9 days until we return and it feels like there is so much to do, which is both true and a false dialog. Our things are all over the house but it is a small house and we have few things. I think it is funny the stories that we tell ourselves when there is change.

Erin French is a point of pride here in Maine and quite a success story. She was written about in the New York Times and is on the cover of Maine Women in August 2021. I'm not sure I'm tenacious enough to ever eat there but I appreciate very much that she is making it work on her terms. Freedom, ME is a long way from Portland, ME.

Anyway, I'm eagerly awaiting the food of California and seeing all of you. We are planning to be in Berkeley on November 1 for some work stuff. Let us know if you are accepting visitors from the East and your preferred time. We have the first week off to assimilate and figure out our sleep pattern. I'm hoping we can go visit Marin as it has a strong allure even from here.

Yay! We are off to the islands...

It had just rained so the ferry seats were wet but the views were worth it.
