ME II: 7 days left

Somehow seven days really sinks in. I mean in one week we will be in Boston and on our trek back across the country to home. It sure doesn't look like we are leaving here anytime soon. Chaos reigns that said the fridge is getting barer and barer and I don't dare go to the Farmers' Market because I simply can't resist. I don't seem to have that problem at the grocery. I suppose the vegetables aren't alive and crying out to come home with me. This morning and afternoon it rained heavily. My weather app says a little more than half an inch. On our morning walk, it felt like I had that much in my shoes in no time. At noon I didn't get more than 200 feet before I had to turn back because I was drenched. They say this was a tropical storm. It certainly is warm, the low was 56° and the high was 62°. Over the weekend it should get into the 30s! The air quality today was in the single digits and all day there has been heavy fog.

Here is your first installment of a lovely series about Maine known as Maine by the Mile. The first one is about Matinicus which is an island up in Penobscot Bay and is the farthest island from the mainland that is inhabited.
