ME II: lichens and more
Today was a foggy morning that turned into a drizzle most of the day. Low of 44° and a high of 58°. The rain is expected to continue until the afternoon tomorrow. Not too much to report. We had a quick walk in the mist and fog in the morning to start our day and then work all day until late. We made a nice soup sort of based on this and it will be better tomorrow. We got a nice walk after it was dark and got a chance to chat with my friend Rosemary. Luckily we all really like to walk in the evenings.
I'll leave you with this story about lichens. Which if you didn't know already are super cool. I also love the "Diverse uses of lichens" from this article which include those that can be used as an anti-inflammatory or to start a fire. Please don't go out and start harvesting lichens, they play an important part of an ecosystem and are supporting other systems. I'm not sure of my identification of these lichens but I'm just a beginner and I wanted to share their beauty. These are from the rocks near the Androscoggin River.
