Whew arriving was a whirlwind we arrived in the rain (as usual) and got pretty soaked. It was really good to arrive and feel like we made it home after basically a week of travel. We arrived on Friday and hit the sack right away. The weekend was settling in. Monday first day of work.
Saturday morning foggy on the way to the farmers market for the first food. YAY. Flower gardens on the way to bring me joy.My shop for the day. I skipped oysters as I needed to be more settled. Maybe next week. Outrageous.Sunday morning we took the ferry to Cliff Island. The smallest and the furthest out island. This beast of a cruise ship was sitting in the harbor larger than any building in Portland and probably two or three city blocks long. That pile of sticks on top of the piling is an Osprey nest, and inside the nest there is a black blob with a white head which is the Osprey.Beautiful umbells I think maybe carrot gone to seed.Favorite plant from childhood and it is planted everywhere here for the butterflies. Wide leaf MilkweedI totally forgot that this mammoth bridge folds right up so that giant ships can go to and fro on the Fore River. Yep, four-lane highway plus bike and pedestrian walkways. It makes a loud sound, there are stop signs and up-the-bridge folds. Goodnight. I'm so exhausted.
