ME III: Friday!

Work is on fire with projects galore and both of us are working for Hesperian right now which makes it a little dull at home. We started early and finished late. One fun thing at lunchtime we walked a block away to a new bakery called Zu. On Fridays at 12:30, you can get Danish Rye! We haven't tried it yet but we will give a full report tomorrow. YAY, a new (micro) bakery that is super duper close. So fun. We actually walk past it each day on our early morning stroll. They also make 81% Whole Wheat bread on Saturdays which is available at 1:30. We desperately need to go shopping for ordinary things so tomorrow will be a day of that.

Black-eyed Susan at the Clark St. Community Garden - as beautiful as ever.
Cats of Portland - laser focus
This leaning house and luscious tree are regular fixtures and put on a good show as the seasons change. They are directly across from an alley we walk up on our early morning walk.
For our post-dinner walk, we went down Spring and this beauty was hanging out.
Western cemetery which we can cut through from Spring to get to the Western Prom. We also frequent it because there are wonderful birds here. Plus quirky people.
Flowers in the Western Prom
It's kind of strange and kind of nice and often in use. It was extra quiet today maybe everyone has left town for the long weekend.
More of these quaint strange gardens. Check out the house across the way, there are many of them each outdoing the previous one.
We just missed the sunset but the low tide is still very low. This is the Fore River which is usually full and large ships come up it.

I hope you are having a lovely evening.

Sending oodles of love and wishing you all the best health,

Tawnia

Short-ish bird list - but has the first Nighthawk of the trip!
