ME III: Full Moon

Today was a chilly day with blue skies and warm sun which faded to clouds in the afternoon. The air quality was a little shmutzy today and I'm a little wheezy. On the other hand, there is a beautiful full moon that is shining over all of us tonight. It's 99.8% full and tomorrow it is 99.5% so I think we can call this as full as it is going to get. We have started to make real progress on the website and we still have a mountain of work to go.

This article came across my feed and is about mining in the ring of fire under the world's second-largest peat bog for $67 Billion in minerals that are needed in making EVs. If you are interested in learning more about the amazing resource of peat marshes take a look at this video on Tero Mustonen who won a Goldman Award for his work to preserve peat bogs in Finland because it is believed to be a larger carbon sink than even the Amazon Forest. It's ironic to think that we need to destroy something this amazing to not destroy the exact thing. If environmental degradation is what is needed in order for us to be able to drive cleaner cars, it may just not be worth it.
