ME III: shot-arama

Today the big adventure was to get our updated COVID-19 vaccine as well as our flu vaccine. Otherwise, it was a busy work day. Lunchtime did involve starting a big pot of chicken stock to simmer. The house smells heavenly.

I learned today that the insecticide pyrethroids which are used on bed nets to keep malaria mosquitoes away is made by crushing aster flowers! Of course, synthetic varieties have been developed. In real life, the bees LOVE these plants, so go figure!

There are at least 6 different varieties of aster growing on the street edge of Clark Street Community Garden.

Our usual viewing and the big tree is just starting to get a few red leaves.

This is a large wrap-around building that they are turning into something else including a part of it into housing.
