ME III: Power outage & thunderstorms

Today was a busy Friday and around 4:30 p.m. we started getting heavy rain and then thunder and lightning. Shortly after the little cubbie office where I work went dark in the middle of a meeting. Matt texted that we blew a fuse because the kitchen (where he works) and bedroom were dark. So, after work as the thunder and lightning show continued, I let our landlord know that we might have blown a fuse because a few lights were out. Turns out that we had lost power and a few hall lights and the wifi run on battery if the power goes out. It is mostly for winter when big storms take out the power for a few days.

Once we took stock of the situation we decided to go to the market, but they had lost power too and were closed. The kitchen was too dark to cook so we headed down to Mami for dinner. Then wandered along the docks until the power came back. We thought we were going to make a quick dinner and work but that is hard to do without power.

First day at school
Many happy child noises and breaks of school busses hissing as they roar to a stop.

The power was restored just before 8 p.m. and it started to thunder and lightning and big raindrops started to fall just as we were nearing home. We only got partially soaked.

Spontaneous wild night in Portland ME

Sending oodles of love to you all,
