ME III: Color!

Today as predicted was a little bit warmer we had a low of 46° and a high of 68° sort of similar to SF a little colder and a little warmer here. We are on a warming trend and the next three days are expected to be in the 70s! We are in full end times now with only 9 more days.

I read a lovely piece about gardening on Monhegan Island and an intergenerational hand-off of sorts.

Here in lovely Portland, there is a Tyson plant down the hill from the Western Prom which smells often of something like ultraprocessed meat that might be dog food or something. It's awful. The other thing that is worrisome are the lovely white tanks, across the Fore River in South Portland. These tanks are notorious for holding heavy fossil fuels that are off-gassing and the companies are often in trouble with the EPA. Primarily they contain bunker fuel and much of it is held for Canada. Take a look at this ArcGIS map. The tanks are small pink and purple dots. I was surprised by how old some of them are and to learn who owns them.

No color changes, no filters. This place likes its colors.

Already this one is starting to lose its leaves!
The smallest street sweeper. His snout can reach in between cars or clean right next to the curb.
