ME III: Final day

Today we ran errands and did light cleaning. There is more to do so this will be short. We got up early and went down to get a demi-baguette for the trip. The high today was 55° and the low was 31°. It felt fresh and brisk but the wind definitely made it colder feeling in the morning and evening. Eventually, we did manage to get enough done that we felt good about leaving just after 3 p.m. to go to Peaks Island for a quick walk to say goodbye to all the beauty. We caught the 5pm back and had dinner at Mami where we are regulars and they know what we want. We surprised them by sitting inside as the ferry ride back was quite windy and cold and we got chilled. Usually, we sit outside so that was fun. It's a great restaurant on many levels.

I did read about this remarkable young singer blowing people away. It came out a month ago or so but wasn't on my radar until recently.

Tomorrow we will get up early and head to the Transit Center and then we will be off on our journey. I'm looking forward to the beauty on the train ride back. How will it be the same, how will it be different? Who will we be seated with at dinner? Will they be interesting? What will we learn?

Despite the cold and it being November the sunflowers are still going strong.
Quite a gale blowing as we prepared to get on the Machigonne II. We always sit outside even when it is cold because the ride is so amazing.
Goodbye, little ferry.
I love a marsh in all the different seasons. They just seem so full of life and usefulness.
This is the other side of the marsh
Look at the colors and textures of the branches.
Yet a different marsh.
Tree house and the entrance is that you must have enough upper body strength to lift yourself in from the short ladder.
Quay Words Books is a mobile used bookstore but this might be their new permanent home! The building is brand new.
Patterns and color
Goodbye Peaks Island until next time.
This is the industrial ferry that is a private operation. Look how little the dump trucks look next to it.
This is the wee-est sailboat. Smaller than a surfboard
Sunset over Portland. Goodbye, Portland.
Goodbye, handsome Little Sprite. See you next year.

Have a wonderful evening and we will give you a report from the train when we can.

Sending oodles of love,

Tawnia
