Community

This morning we had our usual every-other-week ritual. Breakfast out at a charming old-fashioned breakfast place on Church Street. Then, it's late enough that we can go to the Noe Farmers Market for some berries and vegetables. Then we had a lovely cappuccino and hung out at the cafe and read books. It was fun to see all the characters and unusual people. The cafe is also the cafe that the SF Fire people frequent, and interestingly, many of them are extraordinarily tall.

Then I had a phone meeting with a woman who has volunteered with Hesperian for many years, translating our materials into French. Over the years, she has become an important part of my community , if not a dear friend. I'm working on getting her back engaged and plugged back into the work.

The Smith Cottage is an elaborate art facade and it attracts a lot of people taking photos. I just forgot about it because we live one block away and walk past it everyday.
