IRL blue skys
Today was a busy day, giving the first of my performance evaluations. I work with really great people, so it's easy to give, but it's just a lot of writing and talking. It was a gorgeous day in Oakland, and when I came home, there was blue sky for the first time in a long time in SF.
By way of good news, I recently read that this is a record year for Maine's Piping Plovers.
And two short things to read that come from work, and our "Politics of Health Session" coming up, which is focused on Midwifery.
First, just a few excerpted pages from the introduction and conclusion of Witches, Midwives and Nurses, which is a short book from the 1970s and a few years before Our Bodies Ourselves
Second, is just a few excerpted pages from Guardianas: Dispatches from the Association of Midwives Rosa Andrade. This is a book of first-person accounts of midwives in El Salvador living primarily in rural and marginalized communities.

Have a wonderful day!
Sending oodles of love,
Tawnia
