Alpha-gal syndrome

No, I'm not talking about strong women! This is more like vegan dystopian sci-fi: ticks are spreading a red meat allergy. A protein most mammals have (but not humans) is alpha-gal, and the tick bites them and then bites us, providing us with a mini-blood transfusion, and voila. You can read more about it here, but the long and short of it is that it is primarily spread by the lone star tick, which lives in the Southeast (although it is creeping North due to climate change).

Today was a good day. I woke up with a hint of a headache, but it cleared up during our morning walk, and it's starting to release my shoulders and neck now. Matt started quite early, helping with a code crisis, but it was mostly resolved by 6:30 when I got up. We made a nice dinner and went for another walk. It started foggy but turned into a sunny, warm day. The low was 53° and the high was 73°
