Friday!

Today we went on a short morning walk. It was still overcast, having rained a little overnight. Another cool day, about the same as yesterday. The high was 77° with cool breezes from the Pacific. We both had busy workdays. Fixed a simple dinner at home. We went on our post-dinner constitutional walk. On it, discovered a park, wandered through it, and then, eventually, to a street we knew would take us back home. There are a remarkable number of dead-end streets for cars and pedestrians. The other thing about this place is that everywhere you look, there are so many trees that it looks like a park, so you look down a street and you think, surely a park will be here. But no...just many large trees in every yard. Many Coast Redwoods are used as street or yard trees. It is quite lovely.

Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent created a unique outdoor art gallery of colorful, whimsical sculptures from recycled materials along Florence Avenue in Sebastopol. Amiot builds the sculptures from discarded metal and other found objects, and his wife, Laurent, paints them.
