It's all in the details
Today was the first Monday in 2026, and it was quite something. Heavy rainfall in Oakland for several hours made for a fun day in the office. It was very flooded when I walked to BART. Also, Mondays are a pretty sparse crew in the office, and I pulled together a lovely goodbye party for someone who is leaving. We had tea and cookies, and the conversation was lively, and there wasn't anything stiff or performative.
This is the last day of rain for a while, and it's been so magical, and all the plants are overjoyed. It is easier to do some things when it's not raining, so that will be nice too. Especially if the air quality stays good.
A new imperialism or another world war brewing? My stomach hurts.
