Rain!

The miracle of rain is that it cleans the air. We were at 89 this morning, and now we are at 39! It's not even real rain, more like a heavy drizzle. Still, it's like every cell in my body is awake when the air quality is better. Yippeee, they all say. We are all so lucky.

While our hearts and minds are full of anger and anxiety at the current state of our democracy, I thought I'd report on some good news.

First, California is pushing hard on renewable energy, and it's working. 67% of energy is renewable/clean, and we have days when several hours are 100% renewable. We can do this!

Second, (finally) the NRA is speaking up against Trump, and Gavin Newsom is agreeing.

Third, a young mountain lion has been hanging around San Francisco. They removed him and will take him out of the city to somewhere there is more room. I wonder if that works for big cats. I know it doesn't work for coyotes; they do very poorly with relocation.

Fourth, the coyote that swam in winter to Alcatraz and was photographed so worn out he couldn't get totally out of the water survived and is thriving. The coyote lady says to leave him be. He is likely to leave on his own, as it's too small for coyote territory.
