gray gray gray
It was cloudy and gray today. Only moments of sun and blue sky in the middle of the day. Work is busy and the summer quiet time when there are fewer staff around is starting.
I was reading this history of San Francisco and when Mr. Leese wanted to start a mercantile business his partners in Monterey asked the government to give him land in San Francisco and they did! A couple years ago I worked with a Jesuit Priest from Zimbabwe and we were sketching out a program for a borehole well and community garden for water and food security in rural lands. I was concerned about how he would get the land to do all this. He smiled and said well we will ask the local leaders and they will see the value and of course they will give us the land. It seems similar but somehow I cannot imagine that happening here. It is just outside of what I can imagine.
