Flying on no sleep

Today was a blur. I didn't sleep much last night. Both went to bed late, couldn't fall asleep, and woke up every hour or so. Matt flew back from Denver today, after a day of meetings yesterday. We are both dragging. Tomorrow early, we will head back up to Marin. Then there is a week of work, followed by a week of vacation. Then back home. The new W/D works wonderfully, as the clothes are cleaner coming out than with the old machine.

Tonight is the nearly full eclipse of the Full Sturgeon Moon. I heard that to get out of this cloud you have to go up to Napa. It's not happening.

This post on Instagram got me engaged with Bloody Harlan and Florence Reece. I come from a coal mining town. My mom and dad didn't work in the mines, but most of my peers' parents did. It was a union job that would hire women and... very rough and tumble. There is a statue commemorating those who died in the mines. More Paonia history here.

Someone didn't get the memo that it's still summer here!
Because whenever I see a clematis, I think of my Dad who loved them and grew them all around his back porch.
