Swallows

There are so many swallows filling the sky above the cottage and above the park.

I'm feeling a little out of sorts. Still in the trenches with all my work. Slowly they move along. Today was a little strange. We got in a couple of walks. Work on the house is progressing.

The wild world around us: Mountain beavers live here, and they are not what you think of when you hear the word beaver. They are a rodent that lives underground. They have a short tail and are about 10-12 inches long. They have different tunneled spaces for excrement, food storage, and nesting. They make their homes among dense scrub. Their numbers are still about 50% of what they were before the 1995 Vision fire. They live in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. Here is more information
