Tuesdays the day

It's the perfect day to go to Bear Valley Trailhead. There were three cars in the parking lot and no one on the trail coming or going this evening.

Work is busy, which I guess is good. Better than not being busy. The days are going fast, and a lot is happening with our house upgrade this week.

The wild world around us: The Long-Tailed Weasel (Mustela frenata) is a native predator of Point Reyes National Seashore. It is the largest of American weasels. It's named for a tail that is 1/3 as long as its body length. They consume up to 40% of their body weight daily. They are solitary, active, and elusive. Mainly, they eat small rodents and occasionally rabbits. Gestation averages 280 days! There are three kinds of weasels in the United States. This is the largest and the most widespread.
