Estero Trail & Plumbing

This morning, we got out early for our first long hike, although it was going to be hot. We saw three rabbits and got bunny luck. Estero Trail is a lovely trail that we go back to. It goes through a tiny forest that is so full of birdlife that it's amazing. Then you cross over a long bridge over the water and the nearby marshy part of the estuary. Then there is a series of substantial hills that are a great cardio workout, with little lily ponds at the bottom of each. Then it goes over scrubland next to this amazing estuary that goes in all directions and has a big tidal difference. It ends at Sunset Beach, which is a wild, rocky landscape overlooking where the ocean meets the bay. When we were about to reach the end, we got cell service, and our neighbor texted to say water was leaking into their garage. Their garage is directly over our bathroom. They couldn't do anything until evening, so we canceled our vacation and came back, and will be staycationing and working on fixing many little things around the house post-construction. The first order of operations is getting a plumber so we have a bathroom sink again. We are back home, and there is much chaos and work to do. Who knows how bad it would have been if we didn't have bunny luck.

This will be the last blog for a little while. Also, we will be switching platforms probably before the next one. I'll invite you all - do let me know if you would like to stop receiving these. I promise I won't get my feelings hurt.

So nice to walk on while watching 1000's of Pygmy Nuthatches and other birds gorge on insects

For multiple years in this lone eucalyptus there has been a honey bee hive. It's also where we had lunch

I love the copper feathers that form the wheat motif on their backs

The place of fish leaping out of the water and leopard sharks with their fins occasionally showing zipping around after the fish.
