Maine Event: Day 70

Whenever I think I'm having a rough day at the office I just have to imagine working at Facebook. This is enough to give anyone a stomachache. 

Today we got up early to go to the post office and of course, it was raining but instead of warm summer rain, it was quite chilly. We will need to go again maybe Wednesday to shut things down. It rained all day and they are expecting it for the next few days. It also gets dark really early so the images are a little dimmer. 

On or in many sidewalks there are granite blocks about 8 inches square. They tend to stand up above the sidewalk by an average of 2 or 3 inches. Just enough to provide something to trip over. Many of them have an M engraved on the top and at least one we found has an I. Here is an article about them. They are known as carriage mounting blocks.

I'm curious if any of you have eaten insects? I don't mean accidental ones in your salad mix. I mean something like a grasshopper? I read this article about eating insects and how it is an American tradition. I also have a friend who ate a small one and said it tasted like grass. This is not something they are talking about in my nutrition class. I wonder what the nutrition label would look like for grasshopper flour!

The Time and Temperature Building has at the very top a readout of the time and temperature. You can't see it from downtown but you can see it from the West End.
