Maine Event: Day 74

Today is our last day in Portland Maine. It was a perfect fall day with cool to cold air and warm sunshine. We finished packing and sent a couple boxes back via USPS and then cleaned the whole house. We finished mid-afternoon and decided to go to Peaks Island as a goodbye treat. Our friend Rosemary joined us and we ate at Greeks of Peaks and enjoyed the cold air on the top deck back with the last of the sunset and the twilight descending.
It was a chilly 39° this morning and got up to 54°. It definitely was crisp and the sun felt good. The sky was an amazing shade of blue and the people and birds were enjoying the fine day.

Tomorrow will be a day of travel to NYC by bus and train. We depart early so I'll keep this short so we can wrap up and get to bed on the early side.

Goodbye, beautiful little community garden. I will miss you.

This is how they thank their sponsors here. Handpainted signs. The big one just out of the image says: You look fabulous. Thank you to our sponsors. It is certainly eyecatching.

The ticket office for the ferry lines (Casco Bay Lines) it's helpful as it is the full length of the building. Pretty cool and difficult to take a picture of that is meaningful. YAY the islands!!

I am sure I will miss Maine, the wonderful people, beautiful buildings, proximity to the water, and great beauty in all directions. I will also miss the ferry and the islands...the sweet sweet magical islands.

Have a wonderful night.

oodles of love are coming your way,
