ME II: aftermath of the storm

We woke up to nice weather cloudy but cool and there were dozens of texts about the storm yesterday. The car ferry wasn't running because there was a power outage. We also learned that our beloved food truck with the best view Greeks on Peaks truck was crushed by a tree falling. Apparently, there were 60-mile-an-hour winds on the island, and many homes, businesses, boats, and infrastructure were damaged. The staff had just exited the building because of the intensity of the storm so no one was hurt. They have a Go Fund Me and here is the dramatic picture.

After we got up, we went down to the farmers market early before it got busy. There was lovely produce, we got peaches, blueberries, tomatoes, watermelon, Piel de Sapo melon, and a few other goodies. The plan is to make a watermelon and tomato salad with feta (this is the basic idea). Then we spent part of the day working more on the app. We solved several serious bugs and we are now hopefully in the final review. Then little things like cleaning. We thought we would go out to Paper Tiger but it was packed and I didn't want to wait for an indoor table so we went to Mami where the food is always reliably delicious and there is usually an outdoor table room available. Then we went on a long walk and got a lovely sky show.

This house is one of my favorites it's huge this is just a corner but it looks and feels kind of haunted. It's brick that has been painted gray and is peeling in a delicious manner.

Apples are grown at many homes here including where we live. The flowers and the apples were on our walk after we released what we hope is a near-final version of the app we are working on.
