ME II: busy days
It was a beautiful day sunny with cool breezes. We did some errands early downtown and made it to work by 8:30am. I sincerely appreciate that many things open at 7am. We had a full day at work. This evening I took a class on Ukrainian pickling and fermenting. Here is a recipe for sour spicy pickled tomatoes. The course was a super informal zoom call with two Ukrainian cooks, one who is releasing a cookbook soon. There were roughly ten people in the audience who I think were all Ukrainian. It wasn't very interactive but I took notes and learned a little. I never thought of pickling tomatoes before and these seem a little bit closer to marinating tomatoes, but I'd like to try them. The tomatoes here I think get too much water so they taste a little bleh. I think adding all the herbs etc would be nice. We don't have a food processor or anything like that but I might borrow one from a friend.
Tomorrow we might seek out and see how available the new bivalent COVID boosters are available at our local Walgreens ahead of what looks like a busy few weeks where it would be nice if we had extra protection.

Have a lovely evening.
Sending love, Tawnia
