ME II: cooking, rain & visitors
It was raining when we got up and it has been a steady light rain all day, and it is predicted to be all night and tomorrow until 4pm or so. We got up early and went for a walk and then came home and made a plum galette with the oblong French Prune Plums that are so delicious when cooked. I love all plums, but they have a unique appeal because their season is so short. Then we got a visit from Dorothy, Alec, and Mira. We had a nice lunch of Judith's Moroccan Rice Salad, hummus and carrots, and a slice of tart. Mira loves boats, puddles, and swinging so we walked to Harbor View Park and then back to a small local park with swings. Boy does that girl like to swing. Then we caught some of the larger puddles to stomp in on the way home. Later on, Rosemary came by to pick up her rolling pin and wand blender and I foisted some plum galette and rice salad off on her. (We swap food pretty regularly). Then our landlady gave us zucchini muffins and we gave her the rest of the plum galette. Then we made dinner and had a nice long walk on a dark rainy night. Perfect day.

Have a quiet, relaxing day!
Sending love, Tawnia
