City life - yep it's a zoo

Today, I thought the Ferry building might be quiet and went down to get some ham for more ham and cheese crepes. Boy was I in for a surprise. First, all the churches are packed to the gills and the center "turn lane" is used as a parking space (allowed for churchgoers), and people were pouring in and out of different establishments. Then the Mission had flags up and was getting ready for cultural events, plus it was "Front Porch", which is where DIY musicians all over the neighborhood turn their porches into stages. I took BART downtown, and people dressed in orange were flooding around me, meaning there was a Giants game. Once I got up the stairs and outside, there was a Juneteenth parade getting lined up with many people decked out for that. Then, across Embarcadero Plaza, there was a protest against Iran for the treatment of protesters, etc. Of course, mixed in with this were tons of tourists and scantily clad gay folks here celebrating a week early (next Sunday is the gay pride parade "Queer joy is resistance" is the theme).

Fire trucks and men practising on our morning walk.
Nice green and pink entry
Cosmos everywhere!
Mural on Sanchez St.
Just a nice view on our morning walk up the hills
Cars are parked in the middle of all streets in all directions for church
People streaming out of church
24th Street in the Mission is decked out for the events
Orange people are heading to the Giants game. There were lots and lots more, but they were too close to take pictures of anything but heads and bodies

However, it's lovely to be home and the food is tasting like summer in my kitchen

Charred green beans, roasted cherry tomatoes with thyme and garlic, mozzarella and pesto with extra lemon and no cheese (it was supposed to have cannellini beans, but we didn't have any, it was delicious this way).

Sending oodles of love from the zoo,

Tawnia
