Look up!

Today, we celebrate independence with sparkling lights and loud booms. Some people are out grilling and such. I really love the word independence and how it means different things depending on context. Additionally, we have a visitor in the sky from a different solar system, which is very cool!

Another article that really got me thinking is an opinion piece from the NYT in response to the history and data around immigration, and also on the birthright question. The part I'm still mulling over is this idea of who is an American and what is America. You can expect more on this topic.

It was not foggy today or this evening in San Francisco. I'm pretty sure this hasn't happened in the past 20 years on the Fourth of July!
