Peaks Island

Well we arrived. The flight left at 8am and arrival was scheduled for 5pm but got in an hour early due to a serious tail wind. Got a few groceries, had an early dinner at Mami (a beloved Japanese restaurant of yore). Got set up in our little apartment and tomorrow will be a real day. We did sneak in a walk after unpacking our backpacks and boy to they got birds here. Also we left fog to arrive in fog but it is warmer here but one does need a jacket and I wish for my sweater that I wear in SF. As I sit here writing it has started raining!!!

So exciting. This is a magical place.

Portland airport. This was the inaugural flight and much fanfare was made with photo ops and the fire truck spraying water on our plane (champagne?) and inside were cupcakes and festivities. United SFO to PWM direct first flight ever and we were on it.
Nice treat on our way from the airport to downtown.
Kids playing while we had outside dinner at Mami. It was hot but once the sun went down it got cool to cold especially on the water
Bug light
The line to get off the island was long. The weekend is busy and it is wedding season
Birds or bats in the roof. They seem like maybe they have a purpose. Anyone guess>?
Cats of Peaks!
