Peaks day 11

It was cloudy and rained a tiny bit this evening. We got up early and took the 9:45 ferry to town and caught the 11am ferry to Long Island to bop around there and go to the beach. We kicked around there talked for a while about eelgrass decline in Maine and may have found some on the beach. Caught the 2pm back to Portland and made it back to Peaks Island before 4pm. Lovely adventure.

Here is an article about eelgrass and restoration of the Greater Farallones National Marine area and specifically the importance of the Bolinas lagoon and the decline of it there. In Maine, they are studying it and also replanting it. In Bolinas they are studying it and doing restoration.
